Greece is a popular holiday destination. Due to the attractive real estate prices and the high returns, many EU citizens and non-EU citizens decide to acquire one or several real estate – or even to move to Greece for good.


Although representation by a lawyer is no longer mandatory for real estate purchases in Greece, we advise all potential purchasers to involve a lawyer at an early stage. There is still no area-wide land survey register in Greece, which is why purchasers should thoroughly investigate the details of ownership in advance and seek advice in structural, building-law and tax-law issues.
